Safety tips

Buenos Aires is a big city so you need to know some important tips:

Don´t wear expensive watches (Rolex) or jewelry.

Keep your bag/wallet in the front.

Don´t walk in the streets when it gets dark. Take a taxi.

Drink plenty of water, especially in the summer.

Wear sun glasses.

As the sun is stronger every day, Iconic Buenos Aires highly recommends you to use sunscreen, mainly if you are visiting us in summer. In our Private Tours we walk as well as ride a comfortable vehicle so, be ready!! The ideal filter would be 25 and up. In this way you will be able to enjoy the sun with your local tour guide without any mark in your skin.

Weather

The city of Buenos Aires has a very nice weather during the whole year. The average annual temperature is around 18°C (64°F), extremely cold or hot days are unusual, which allows visitors to fully enjoy this beautiful city throughout the year.

In Buenos Aires we have four different seasons. In summer the weather is quite humid, with a maximum average temperature of 29°C (84°F), potentially reaching up to 36°C (97°F). The mornings are warm, during midday and early afternoon the temperature increases significantly and at night the temperature tends to decrease a little bit. The cold is moderate in the winter during the day, but during the night the temperature drops a lot. Being the average temperature in this season around 8°C (46°F). In spring and autumn the average temperatures are in between 18 and 20°C (66°F).

It is extremely odd to see snow in Buenos Aires. The last snowfalls were recorded in 1918 and in 2007, causing a great astonishment in the whole population. It was our Independence Day (July 9th), so as it was a holiday everybody could enjoy this wonderful experience.

In Buenos Aires it is not common to see extreme natural events like hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, etc.

As we are in the Southern hemisphere our seasons are:

Summer (December 21st till March 20th)

Autumn (March 21st till June 20th)

Winter (June 21st till September 20th

Spring (September 21st till December 20th)
